COAS Raheel Sharif visits North Waziristan


RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif visited North Waziristan.

During his visit, COAS was briefed on progress of operation and return of Temporary Displaced Persons (TDPS), military spokesman Lt Gen Asim Bajwa said.

ISPR Asim Bajwa posted his statement on Tweeter, saying that the army chief commended officers and men for their courage, determination spirit of sacrifice in fight against terrorism.

The army chief also praised intense hard work by intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies against terrorism, he said.

“Terrorist networks and linkages are being unearthed across the country, this nexus will be broken at all cost to bring enduring peace,” Bajwa quoted the army chief as saying.

The army chief inaugurated 110 bed Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Mir Ali with state of the art equipment and announced construction of cadet college in North Waziristan.

The success of Zarb-e-Azb was also being discussed in the meeting.
