US Embassy issued a statement today, per which six Pakistani students are participating in the inaugural FIRST Global Challenge robotics competition in Washington DC.
The statement read, “The team will collaborate with other teams from across the world to accomplish engineering tasks focused on access to clean water.”
Six Pakistani students are participating under the mentorship of Ali Syed. Syed told that the students had won a competition organized by Lets Innovate, and since then they had been actively preparing for the competition for weeks.
American Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Jonathan Pratt met with the Pakistani team and encouraged them to actively part in the competition. Pratt said, “I hope you take advantage of the opportunity to share ideas about how to use robotics to solve some of the biggest problems that Pakistan, the United States, and other countries around the world face.”
Syed said, “Our team is honoured to represent Pakistan on this international stage and to show that Pakistani students have a passion and an aptitude for solving problems through robotics.”
