ISLAMABAD: CASA 1000 MW power project would help to meet the energy shortage in the country, said Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif Thursday.
There is a good news that the CASA project would provide cheap electricity to Pakistan. Most of the growing energy demand would be fulfilled through the project, he said while talking to PTV.
The minister said the stage has been set for sealing a historic accord for the supply of 1,000 MW electricity to Pakistan by Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan via Afghanistan.
Khawaja Asif said due to the government efforts, power generation of the country would reach 31,000 MW till 2018.
He went on to say that the national economy has been improving in the country.
